David Oustecky, MD, is board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology with deep roots in Long Island. He serves patients at Digestive Disease Care, which has locations in the communities of East Setauket, Jericho, Forest Hills, Hicksville, Jamaica, Mineola, and Babylon, New York.
He graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Then he completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Following his residency, Dr. Oustecky returned to Drexel University to complete a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship.
Dr. Oustecky prides himself on a clinical style that includes spending ample time with each patient to listen to their complete history. He feels that a patient cannot be properly treated without a full understanding of the symptoms and how those symptoms have affected their lives.
Dr. Oustecky treats all kinds of digestive disorders, and his clinical focus includes using water to improve visualization, comfort, and therapy during colonoscopy. He is also dedicated to patient education and has participated in research aimed at helping patients better understand colonoscopy preparation.
On his days off, Dr. Oustecky likes to go hiking with his family and play disc golf.
